Biore Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips | Review

I have never used anything from the Biore Range before these nose strips, so this is not in any way a review for the brand as a whole. I purchased these 'nose strips' from Superdrug whilst they were on sale for £5 (usually they are £7.99) because I seriously needed to find a way to clear up the blackheads on my nose. Disgusting I know, but what do you expect from a post relating to nose strips! I had heard good things about the brand, but as I mentioned, had never tried anything from their range before, so decided to add them to my basket and before I knew it, the postman brought them to my house ready for me to try.

The strips came with easy to follow instructions which made the whole 'nose strip' process (which is new to me, I'll admit) surprisingly easy. You first wet your nose, I just wetted a flannel and held it on my nose for a while, and (obviously) after removing the plastic, just placed it on my nose, sticky/smooth side down. One thing I will say, I get the feeling I placed mine a little to high, because the strip was a little too close to the thin skin under your eye for comfort, so bear this in mind when applying yours!

I then spent a happy ten minutes watching some of my favourite youtubers...wonderfulyou, lily mel rose & fleurdeforce to name a few... and then came the most exciting moment of it all; the peel.

I'm not quite sure what I was expecting when I peeled it off, but something I was not expecting, is that it was actually a little bit painful. To be fair, this could be due to me placing it too high, or just not being careful enough, but I put on my bravest face and peeled off the strip. Now I don't mean to make anyone feel queasy, but I could literally see the blackheads being pulled out of my skin. No pain no gain has never been truer. The results were brilliant! The strip was not the prettiest beauty product I've owned once I'd finished with it, but the skin around my nose looked so much clearer. Not only has it helped my appearance, but this product has been great for keeping my oily tendencies at bay!

Would I purchase again?
Definitely. This is not a product I will be using on a daily basis, but yes I will definitely be repurchasing! You can buy them here from Superdrug.

Daisy Eau So Fresh by Marc Jacobs | Review

I have to admit, this perfume being my first ever, I don't really have anything to compare it to. However, even if I did, I don't think much would compare, as I have never smelt anything so beautiful in all my life! It is a 'fun, floral and youthful fragrance' (according to www.fragrancedirect.co.uk) and I think these three words describe it perfectly! I have never been great at describing scents, but I can tell you that wearing this makes me feel fresh and girly, and for only £52, I will definitely be repurchasing over and over!

Not only is the scent something nice for your nostrils, might I just delight over how beautiful the bottle is? This is kind of a two in one, a perfume and a gorgeous decoration for your bedroom!

If you haven't smelt this already, then you really need to!

Advice To My Teenage Self | Tag

So, I know at eighteen, I'm still a teenager, but this tag looked so fun I couldn't pass up on it. Therefore, I'm going to base this around when I was the thirteen - fifteen mark, so basically secondary school aged.

Here goes!

Three Makeup/Fashion DOs for your Teenage Self

1. Wear your retainer! I had braces for best part of three years and my teeth were corrected! But I was tooo lazy to wear my retainer. I tried to shove it back in a few months back, and did that hurt. I know this isn't really related to makeup or fashion, but it's kind of along the beauty line....

2. Do keep wearing what you want to wear! Just because all my friends wore Hollister or Jack Wills, I thought that meant I had to save my money to buy the same clothes as them, when in all honesty, I was more than happy with New Look. Don't feel sad because of what other people say about you're clothes! As long as you're happy with what you're wearing, that's all that matters!

3. Do experiment. I was always experimenting with different eye and lip colours, and it taught me what I love to wear on my face now! However, I think this 'Do' should apply to my now self too.. branch out, add a bit more colour!

Three Makeup/Fashion DON'Ts for your Teenage Self

1. Don't EVER put concealer on your lips. I didn't really understand how it looked attractive, but everyone was doing it... I'm so ashamed of myself. NOT a good look.

2. Don't cut your hair really short. So, when I was thirteen I suddenly got the urge to cut all of my hair off into a bob. Why oh why. It looked so bad. And now my hair won't grow. So sad. 

3. Don't wear so much make up to school. I started wearing make up when I was around fourteen, and I wore it to school everyday. Looking back, I wish I'd given my skin a break, and not worn so much to school. It didn't distract me from my learning, in fact not being allowed to wear it distracted me more, but if I'd been more minimal, my skin would be thanking me now.

A Deep and Meaningful Piece of Advice for your Teenage Self

Be a bit more forgiving, and trust people a bit more. I had/have trust issues, and I feel like if I'd let people in a bit more when I was younger, I would be a better person today. I also always used to hold grudges against people, and would refuse to forgive someone if they weren't sorry. nowadays I've realised the importance of just letting go, and being a bit more peaceful and not so angry!

1 Tip for School
Dont give up. If I didn't understand something, I would just say I was rubbish at that subject and be done with it. I wasn't rubbish, and a little positivity could have got me a lot better grades!

1 Tip for Friends
Choose your friends wisely. If you're in a group of friends who will ignore you for the day because you didn't wear pink on a Wednesday or you wore a tank top two days in a row (yes I am quoting Mean Girls) then they aren't good friends. I was very unhappy in my friendship group in the first few years of secondary school. The whole group had a hierachy and what ever the leader said, went. I hated that. In year nine I met my best friend Emily, who introduced me into a much better friendship group. She stuck with me through thick and thin, and there was a lot of thin. She is a true friend! The other girls have grown up into lovely people now though.

1 Tip for Fun
Don't worry about getting a boyfriend. What happened to 'boys are stupid'? You don't need a boyfriend when you are fourteen. Go out and have a laugh with your friends, and build those relationships first! A boyfriend will come all in good time! Go out and enjoy yourself!

July Glossybox | Review

Okay, so I'll admit, I'm a little bit behind with being excited about the July Glossy box. To be fair, I did only receive it today because I've been away, so that will be my excuse! This is the first Glossy box I've ever had, and I just ordered one to try it out, so this will also be a first impressions video I guess!

 I thought the selection was great that I received in my box, but my favourite things were the Sleek Pout Paints, which I received in Pinkini and Lava. Without even looking at the rest of my box, I had tried them both on (yeah, I guess my lips didn't appreciate all the Bioderma...) and loved them. Out of all the other colours available, these were the two shades I would have chosen as they are both really vibrant (literally neon), but so much easier to wear than I originally thought they would be.

 The next thing to catch my attention was the Ciate Nail Polish in 'The Glossip'. I got a couple of mini samples of these polishes in one of the many magazines I read (I think it was Marie Claire...), but haven't as yet tried them because the colours was a nudey brown and a type of glitter - neither of which I'm that into. However 'The Glossip' is a coral pink, which I love! Definitely more my colour, and I cannot wait to try it on my nails. I've already swatched it on a nail wheel, and think the colour is amazing, one coat is enough and the application is super easy!

I can't say much for the other three items, I will need to test them out properly and get back to you! However I can tell you that the Anatomicals Facial Spritz smells gorgeous! It's really fresh and relaxing; lavender and peppermint scented, and it smells really great.
The other two items were the Bamboo Style Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist, and the Coola Classic Face SPF 30 Cucumber Moisturiser, but as I said, I will review them properly once I've tested them!

I probably will purchase another Glossybox. I think the products were all great, and definitely value for money, (the two lip stains would have cost £9.98 outside of the glossy box, and I paid £10 for my box), it arrived looking beautiful and allows you to try products you wouldn't have otherwise. I think it's a great concept, but it will be something I do occasionally rather than every month. (Until I'm rich of course! ;-))

As many times as I blink, I'll think of you tonight

By the time you guys read this, I will be flying home from sunny Portugal back to dear old England. I had the best time on holiday, and Cascais is a beautiful little town to stay in, away from the regular tourist scene. As much as I love the sun and warm weather, I am looking forward to Autumn, which comes hand in hand with layers and fluffy socks. I am a winter girl at heart, being a January birthday, and December 25th being my favourite day of the year, I welcome the winter fashions, whereas a lot of people don't. In England, people wear shorts and sun hats until the bitter end of summer, whereas I am already 'cosied' up with my dark reds and browns.
However, when this outfit was worn (to death, all holiday), it was hot hot hot, so even for a girl who apparently loves to be cold, this was comfy and casual. Pretty much your basic 'shorts and a t-shirt' sort of look, but the H&M kimono I threw over the top, adds elegance and a bit more colour.
Talking of colour, how amazing are these galaxy print shoes? I picked them up for about a tenner in New Look about 2 months back, and to be honest they haven't really seen the light of day. (Haha, geddit?) However, I knew I would be needing some comfy shoes to walk in, and so into the suitcase they went. I am so glad I packed them - I have literally worn nothing but these and my flip-flops!
As much as I have thoroughly enjoyed myself here, I will be glad to be home. Next week starts a new chapter in my working experience, and I am really excited to see what life has to throw at me.

OOTD | Monk Searching

I took these pictures (or Toby took these photos) whilst visiting a Monastery in Belem (near Lisbon). It was a beautiful building, and I really enjoyed looking at all the beautifully designed pillars and columns! 

It was so so hot, so I decided to go with my really loose dress from Topshop - it's quite an old one now, so I couldn't find a link unfortunately, however if you're lucky you could try eBay... 

I bought this dress from the Tall section (even though my 5ft3 height means I am by no means tall) because the regular dress was just too short! I love the pattern, and the colours are so vibrant making it the perfect summer dress! Plus it was worn by the beautiful Mollie from the Saturdays! (what a great dress sense...)

Think it's fair to say she wore it better....

The only suitable shoes I brought with me for this heat and walking are my trusty £1 Primark flip flops (packing fail!), so of course, as per usual, they were glued to my feet.

The Body Shop - Vitamin E Face Mist

The Body Shop Face Mist - £8.00

With the weather heating up, a good face mist is a must, for me anyway. This one has not left my side for the whole time I've been on holiday, so I thought I should blog about it!

This spray is full of vitamin E; a vitamin known to protect and repair your skin - however, this is not just what I love about this product. Not only is the delicate rosewater scent calming and refreshing, but you can also use this over your make up, as it doubles as a makeup setting spray! I often find it difficult to refresh myself when I'm hot on holiday, because no-one wants panda eyes! Therefore having this do both, refresh you, and helping to keep your makeup in place is great for hot weather.

I would highly recommend this product - 10/10!
